Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers. I just read and reviewed my first Will McIntosh book, Burning Midnight, and loved it! And lo and behold, he’s got a new adult fantasy releasing this fall!
No one can remember anything–who they are, family and friends, or even how to read. Reality has fragmented and Earth consists of an islands of rock floating in an endless sky. Food, water, electricity–gone, except for what people can find, and they can’t find much.
Faller’s pockets contain tantalizing clues: a photo of himself and a woman he can’t remember, a toy solider with a parachute, and a mysterious map drawn in blood. With only these materials as a guide, he makes a leap of faith from the edge of the world to find the woman and set things right.
He encounters other floating islands, impossible replicas of himself and others, and learns that one man hates him enough to take revenge for actions Faller can’t even remember.
Faller by Will McIntosh releases in October 2016 from Tor Books. This book sounds like all kinds of trippy. I do love stories that involve characters loosing their memories, and I’m intrigued about the floating islands. This one is definitely at the top of my October reading list!
Let me know what you’re waiting on!
For a second there I thought you meant “New Adult” fantasy instead of a new release that happens to be an adult title. Now I’m curious to see what NA fantasy titles there are out there!
Oops that was confusing, now that I reread my wording. I hope you find some awesome NA fantasy:-)
First time hearing of this one. I hope you enjoy it when you get it! Have a great week! My WOW
Oh this does sound really good! I really like the sound of the description.
WOW
“Intriguing” does not even start to describe this one… I’ll keep an eye out for it, thank you!
I’ve had bad luck with the last couple of memory loss books I’ve tried, but may be up for one again by the time this release.
Oh yes I can’t wait for this one either! Memory loss/amnesia type stories make me wary too, but I have faith in Will McIntosh! He can do no wrong in my eyes
I love Will McIntosh (well, his writing anyway!) so glad to hear he has another adult title coming out, will definitely be looking out for it. The idea of memory loss and floating islands sounds fantastic so it’s on the wishlist
Wow, this does sound interesting. Definitely gives me Memento vibes.
Will McIntosh – I’m hoping to love this author. I have one of his books wbr and I’m looking forward to it very much as he seems to enjoy a lot of great reviews!
