Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to highlight upcoming books we’re excited about. This is the last WoW of 2015! Hard to believe this year is just about over. I’m very excited for this week’s pick, since I loved the first book in the series. In fact, I hadn’t realized this was a series until I saw this book:
The author of Alice takes readers back down the rabbit hole to a dark, twisted, and fascinating world based on the works of Lewis Carroll…
The land outside of the Old City was supposed to be green, lush, hopeful. A place where Alice could finally rest, no longer the plaything of the Rabbit, the pawn of Cheshire, or the prey of the Jabberwocky. But the verdant fields are nothing but ash—and hope is nowhere to be found.Still, Alice and Hatcher are on a mission to find his daughter, a quest they will not forsake even as it takes them deep into the clutches of the mad White Queen and her goblin or into the realm of the twisted and cruel Black King.
The pieces are set and the game has already begun. Each move brings Alice closer to her destiny. But, to win, she will need to harness her newfound abilities and ally herself with someone even more powerful—the mysterious and vengeful Red Queen…
Red Queen: The Chronicles of Alice (Alice #2) by Christina Henry releases July 12 2016 from Ace. Alice was a very dark Alice in Wonderland retelling, and I know it didn’t work for some readers, but since I revel in darkness (ha ha), I loved it!
Let me know what you’re waiting on this week:-)
Hope you love it. I didn’t realize it was a series either. I still haven’t picked up the first book. And best wishes for a happy new year!

I hadn’t realized it was a series either, until earlier this week when I saw the cover. I thought Alice worked perfectly fine as a stand alone, but I’ll be curious about this sequel 🙂

Ahh, interesting, I also hadn’t realised this was a series! I was trying to be sensible and restrict myself but who am I kidding!
I will add this to my wishlist.

Alice sounded great! I’ll be looking forward to reading reviews for this one as well 🙂
I didn’t realize this was a series either! Alice has received a lot of praise from trusted blogger friends, so I may need to jump in on this one. I always love a good Alice in Wonderland retelling!
