Ah, it’s the last Wednesday of November, which means this will be my last science fiction WoW for a while! It’s been fun, but I have to say there are so many other books coming out that I want to highlight as well, so next week I’ll be back in the groove of whatever catches my eye, no matter the genre. But first, check out this cover:
Only those young enough can survive the pulse-pounding rush of tetra, a dangerous and addictive new drug that fuels a nine-minute burst of superhuman strength and speed. Alana West has been trained to use the drug so she can pursue the young criminals who abuse its power—criminals like the breakneck who nearly killed her kid brother.
On tetra, Alana is unstoppable. The rush makes her an explosive blur as she surges through New York City, battling to bring down breaknecks before they leave more people dead or injured in their wake. But with the clock ticking down to her eighteenth birthday, Alana will soon be too old for the rush…when just one more dose will prove deadly.
Supported only by her strong and steady handler, Tucker, Alana goes undercover, infiltrating an elite gang of breaknecks to stop the supply of their drug. But when Alana gets trapped on the wrong side of the law, she learns the breaknecks are not quite what they seem—especially Ethan, the artistic boy whose bottomless brown eyes seem to see the truth inside her. With her own dependency on tetra increasing, Alana must decide where her loyalties lie before the rush ends. Forever.
Night Speed by Chris Howard. Releases in May 2016 from Katherine Tegen Books. Everything about this intrigues me: the dangerous drug that turns you into somewhat of a super hero, the eye-catching cover, the female main character. And yes, I seriously love that cover!
Let me know what you’re waiting on this week:-D
I do love some good sci fi! Hope you enjoy this one! My WOW

Ooh I like that cover – that’s not a colour combination you often see on SF covers.
I love it too! I agree, definitely a unique color combination:-)
I love that cover even more after reading the summary. Very fascinating concept, will have to check this one out!
Sounds like it could be good 🙂

What an interesting concept! Very eye catching too.
Lynn 😀
First, that is an awesome cover with all those neon colors. Second, every time I see “Night [insert noun here]”, I start singing the Night Man Day Man song from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia XD
Ha ha, and there are a lot of book titles that fit that formula, LOL:-)
Gorgeous cover! I’ve not read anything by this author, but I’m interested in his debut, Rootless. I hope you enjoy this book when you read it!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a lovely week, Tammy. 🙂

There’s so much good sci-fi YA next year! Is that the trend for 2016, I wonder? I have a whole bunch on my list already, and now this too!
