This month I’m highlighting science fiction novels, and first up is this:
The Great Network is an ancient web of routes and gates, where sentient trains can take you anywhere in the galaxy in the blink of an eye. Zen Starling is a nobody. A petty thief from the filthy streets of Thunder City who aimlessly rides the rails of the Network. So when the mysterious stranger Raven offers Zen a chance to escape the squalor of the city and live the rest of his days in luxury, Zen can’t believe his luck. All he has to do is steal one small box from the Emperor’s train with the help of Nova, an android girl. But the Great Network is a hazardous mess of twists and turns, and that little box just might bring everything in this galaxy — and the next — to the end of the line. The highly anticipated novel from Carnegie-medal-winning author Philip Reeve, Railhead is a fast, immersive, and heart-pounding ride perfect for any sci-fi fan. Step aboard — the universe is waiting.
Railhead by Philip Reeve will be released in April 2016 from Switch Press. Check out the gorgeous cover! Ok you guys: SENTIENT TRAINS. That is all I need to know:-D
Let me know what you’re waiting on!
Haven’t heard of this one. Hope you enjoy it! My WOW

This sounds pretty interesting! It reminds me a bit of Snowpiercer, just because of the never ending train aspect. And I love that little bit about the Android girl is casually dropped in there. I want to know more!

I’ve never heard of Snowpiercer, but I just love anything with trains, don’t know why, LOL:-)
Oh gosh, then you have to watch it! It was on Netflix for the longest time, I’m not sure if it is right now though. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1706620/
Essentially, what is left of humanity is aboard a giant train that never stops moving. The society on the train is divided by classes, and the people at the back are sick of being mistreated and stage a revolt up the train. IT IS SO GOOD.

This book looks really futuristic which to be honest is not really my thing but that cover is so gorgeous and I KNOW I won’t be able to help checking it out.

I want a train that can take me anywhere in the blink of an eye. I’d even settle for that to be limited to just this planet.

I honestly don’t read a lot of sci-fi but this really does sound awesome. Might have to check it out!
I LOVE Phillips Reeve. I love his mortal engine/Hungry cities series. And now a sentient train?! Too awesome! He always does sentient inanimate objects so COOL-y. Can’t wait. 😀
