Waiting on Wednesday [170] – THIS SAVAGE SONG by Victoria Schwab

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers. I had to bump this week’s planned WoW pick because of THIS COVER REVEAL:

This Savage SongThe city of Verity has been overrun with monsters, born from the worst of human evil. In North Verity, the Corsai and the Malchai run free. Under the rule of Callum Harker, the monsters kill any human who has not paid for protection. In the South, Henry Flynn hunts the monsters who cross the border into his territory, aided by the most dangerous and darkest monsters of them all—the Sunai, dark creatures who use music to steal their victim’s souls.

As one of only three Sunai in existence, August Flynn has always wanted to play a bigger role in the war between the north and the south. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate Harker, daughter of the leader of North Verity, August jumps on it.

When Kate discovers August’s secret, the pair find themselves running for their lives and battling monsters from both sides of the wall. As the city dissolves into chaos, it’s up to them to foster a peace between monsters and humans.

A unique, fast-paced adventure that looks at the monsters we face every day—including the monster within.

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1) by Victoria Schwab. Releases from Greenwillow Books in June 2016.  Hurray, a new YA from Victoria Schwab! I really love the sound of this, and check out the violin on the cover, which means the story has something to do with music, perhaps??

Are you a Victoria Schwab fan? Let me know what you’re waiting on this week:-D

  1. It seems like it will have something to do with music. I wonder what type of music these dark creature with play… Will the violin sounds classical and elegant? Or perhaps they are horrible and it sounds nails on blackboard? I know that sound steals my soul 😛

Ha ha, I love that they don’t really tell you about the violin in the blurb, can’t wait to be surprised!

Yes, this is her YA name. I read The Archived and really enjoyed it, so I’m hoping for more of the same.

  2. I still haven’t read this author – in spite of such glowing reviews – clearly I must be crazy!
I have bought a couple though so just need to make the space to read them!
    Lynn 😀
