Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about. I was happy to see a cover on this particular book, the third in a series that I’ve really enjoyed:
You’d have to be mad to steal from the feared International Patent Office. But that’s what Elizabeth Barnabus is about to try. A one-time enemy from the circus has persuaded her to attempt a heist that will be the ultimate conjuring trick.
Hidden in the vaults of the Patent Court in London lie secrets that could shake the very pillars of the Gas-Lit Empire. All that stands in Elizabeth’s way are the agents of the Patent Office, a Duke’s private army and the mysterious Custodian of Marvels.Rod Duncan returns with the climactic volume of the Fall of the Gas-Lit Empire, the breathtaking alternate history series that began with the Philip K Dick Award-nominated The Bullet-Catcher’s Daughter.
The Custodian of Marvels (Fall of the Gas-Lit Empire #3) by Rod Duncan releases in February 2016 from Angry Robot. I’ll admit I didn’t love the second book in the series, but I have high hopes for this conclusion. I do love the character of Elizabeth Barnabus, a cross-dressing private detective trying to survive in a world where women have very little say in how they live. The fact that this is a heist story sounds like this will be a hell of a conclusion! Have you started this series yet?
Interesting cover. Hope you enjoy it when you get it! My WOW
Another one of those series I regret not getting in on right away, because each book intrigues me more than the last. Somehow I need to find time to catch up.
I feel the same way about so many series! Never enough time:-(
Wow! Great covers!
I love these covers!!! Unfortunately I still haven’t caught up with book two so I can’t start looking forward to this one quite yet, but I’m so glad there’s a third book!
I’m hoping the magic of the first book comes back for book three, I’m excited!
For some reason, this series has not really appealed to me, but I do plan on watching reactions as the series progresses to figure out what I’m missing out on
It’s so hard to read ALL THE SERIES, at least there is plenty out there that you know you’ll enjoy:-)
Really cool cover! I haven’t started this series yet, but it does sounds interesting.
I love these covers too, very different from the usual fantasy covers that are out there.
I love the look of the cover!! I have never heard of this series but it sounds like there are some scrappy protagonists in it! Sounds like it’s set in a very cool alternate history.
Very scrappy protagonists for sure! (Awesome word:-D)
I enjoyed the first two books and I’m glad you put it as your WoW, as I’m chronically behind on which books/series I’m following are coming out next. Love the cover for this one!
A cross-dressing private detective? Wow. I keep seeing these books on your blog but I have yet to pick this series up. It sure does sound good though… I need to my TBR at the very least.
