Welcome to Over-Booked, my bi-weekly book haul post, where I share the books I’ve accumulated over the past two weeks. I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Check out their links and you can see other book hauls!
I’m happy to have a small book haul to share this week, which gives me time to catch up! But I’m SUPER excited about these books:
Physical pile:
Updraft by Fran Wilde. With thanks to Tor Books! This book won’t be released until September, but it’s been getting some nice reviews already.
Lagoon by Nnedi Okorafor. Big thanks to Saga Press for this review copy! I believe this edition is the official U.S. edition, since Lagoon has only had a UK edition available up until now. I’ve heard really good things about this, so excited to have the chance to review it:-D
Digital ARCs:
Zero World by Jason M. Hough. Big thanks to Del Rey! I’m sorry to say I haven’t read Jason’s Dire Earth Cycle yet, but that’s not going to stop me from checking out his new book. I mean look at that cover! I’m already hooked:-D Zero World comes out this August.
That’s it for me, let me know if you have any new books this week:-D
I hope you enjoy your new books! Have a great week!
My StS!
I’m not sure about Zero World – it sounds cool, and I’ve been tempted, but I’m afraid it might be a little too high concept for me.
It definitely has that high concept look to it for sure:-)
Agh! I’m really looking forward to LAGOON. I just got in a finished copy of Peter Clines’s THE FOLD and am dying to dive in!

I’ve had Lagoon for some time so yes I think this must be the US release! Seems like Saga press is picking up a lot of thus far UK-only fantasy releases, first Gospel of Loki and now this one, I hope the trend continues because I can think of quite a few gems that need a publisher/release date stateside 🙂

I agree, I always seem to find those UK books that aren’t released here yet, although it is easy to buy them from Book Depository:-D
Jealous that you found an inroad to Saga. I have had to wait for actual release dates thus far. Lagoon has been on my radar for a long time.
Just sent you an email, Nathan:-D
These are all new to me…enjoy! I am curious about Updraft.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

Oh I feel the same way when I have a small haul. I feel like I can take on my TBR pile quite easily (which is a total lie, but hey, I can dream!). These are all new to me, but I hope you’ll enjoy them. 😀
It looks like you have some great books ahead for you to read! I hadn’t heard of any of these but they all look great! I hope you enjoy them all. Have a great week!

Updraft and Zero World both sound good- I’m especially interested in Updraft. Wings and sky monsters and all that… looks very unique, which is nice. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that- and for the reviews as well. I haven’t seen these before so it’s good to get some new reading ideas. 🙂

I’ve been hearing about Lagoon for so long, I’m glad to finally be reading it:-D
Don’t laugh but I got excited when you said Saga Press, because of my recent obsession with the Saga graphic novels. Keen to hear your thoughts on these Tammy, I hope you enjoy!

I know, whenever I hear “Saga “Press” my mind also goes to the graphic novel, which I’ve just started reading:-)
