Welcome to Over-Booked, my twice-monthly book haul post! I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. I’m trying to stay away from Edelweiss and NetGalley, or at least if I stalk those sites, I’m trying to only request books I REALLY want to read. So just a few books this week:
The physical pile:
Those Above by Daniel Polansky. Purchased from The Book Depository. Thank God for TBD, where one can find UK editions of books that have not yet been released in the U.S.! This is one I’ve read some glowing reviews for, and immediately knew I needed my own copy. Right away.
Nightbird by Alice Hoffman. Right after I finished reading my NetGalley copy, I received a physical ARC in the mail. I’m actually giving this copy away! If you live in the US, you can enter by emailing me at booksbonesbuffy (at) att (dot) net. Simply put “NIGHTBIRD” in the subject line and include your name and mailing address. Ends on March 22!
Bitter Sixteen by Stefan Mohamed. This isn’t up on Goodreads for some reason, so the link goes to the publisher’s page. Another awesome-looking book from Salt Publishing! It’s got a superhero vibe to it, which I love. I’ll be reading this and also interviewing the author next month.

Hidden Huntress (The Malediction Trilogy #2) by Danielle L. Jensen. One of two Angry Robot titles that I’m dying to read, and both are second books in their respective series.
Unseemly Science (The Fall of the Gas-Lit Empire #2) by Rod Duncan. My second Angry Robot title this week. I cannot wait to get back into Duncan’s steampunk, cross-dressing world!
When We Were Animals by Joshua Gaylord. I just discovered this book, which comes out next month, and I immediately searched for it and found it on NetGalley. It was clearly written just for me:-D

I like the look of that one! And we both got Hidden Huntress! You were one of those people that I remember featured Stolen Songbird in their Top Ten posts of 2014 – I read it a few weeks later, and loved it! Soooo excited to read the sequel. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Those Above does sound interesting, and the new Rod Duncan caught my eye but I have yet to read the first book.
Nice haul! I have a copy of Nightbird that I really need to finish. I hadn’t heard of Bitter Sixteen before, but I will have to check it out and see what it is about, because I really like that cover. Happy reading!

I’m green with envy looking at Hidden Huntress on your list. Stolen Songbird took me by surprise — I just loved that story. And that ending! >.<

Glad your copy of Those Above arrived! I hear ya, I don’t know what I would do without TBD. I need to request Unseemly Science one of these days too, but I have a few Angry Robot books I should read first before I do. I’m so glad they’re back!
I haven’t even heard of these, interesting haul! I think it definitely makes sense only to request books, you really want. I’m a total mood reader, so I couldn’t deal with tons of ARCs. I hope you enjoy all of them.
