Hey, it’s the first Waiting on Wednesday of 2015! Here’s to a fantastic year in books. Last week I went back and did a post about all of my WoW picks for 2014 (it’s here if you missed it), and it made me realize that I need to make more of an effort to actually READ the books I’m excited about, LOL! I’m linking up with Breaking the Spine, so go check out other blogger’s picks as well. Here’s my first pick of the year:
The Exile by C.T. Adams. Releases in March from Tor Books. I love this gorgeous cover, and I love urban fantasy. This story sounds like all kinds of good! Here’s what the Goodreads description says:
Brianna Hai runs an occult shop that sells useless trinkets to tourists—and real magic supplies to witches and warlocks. The magical painting that hangs in Brianna’s apartment is the last portal between the fae and human worlds.
A shocking magical assault on her home reveals to Brianna that her father, High King Liu of the Fae, is under attack. With the help of her gargoyle, Pug, her friend David, and Angelo, a police detective who doesn’t believe in magic, Brianna recovers what was stolen from her and becomes an unwilling potential heir to the throne.
A suspenseful urban fantasy with a hint of romance, The Exile is the first solo novel by C. T. Adams, who is half of USA Today bestselling author Cat Adams. Like the Cat Adams Blood Singer novels, The Exile is set in a world where magic is real and contains Adams’s trademark blend of suspense, action, humor, and strongly emotional writing.
What do you think? Let me know what book you’re waiting on this week:-D
Great pick! I’ve just added this one to my wishlist, love the sound of the plot and she has a gargoyle called Pug! I love the cover and I enjoyed the first book she wrote as half of Cat Adams book I read so looking forward to this one now 🙂

She’s a new author to me, so I’m looking forward to this!
I always wonder about name changes. Cat to C.T? I wonder why the author went with it.
Ha ha, you know she’s saying to herself, “Darn it, I left out the “a”…”
Nice pick! Haven’t heard of this one. I hope you enjoy it when you get it! My WOW

I don’t read a ton of Urban Fantasy but is it just me or does the girl on the cover look like the actress from Once Upon A Time??

I know, I love this cover! I want her outfit:-)
Oh heck yeah I’m looking forward to this! I think for a while you were the only other person on my goodreads to have this on their to-read list 🙂

I can’t even remember where I saw this, maybe I got the idea from you!
Sounds like it could be good. I like the background on the cover, but would probably like it more if the woman’s face was not so clearly shown. Nitpicking and silly, I know 🙂 and while we sometimes judge books on the cover, they really are not what matters.

I totally get it, I sometimes nit pick covers myself:-)
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the author’s other series — thought it went on a bit too long, but this looks good! I’ll try about any book involving fae.
I also need to make a better effort at reading my WoW picks, hah!
