This week’s theme: Time – time waits for no one.
This was an easy theme, and there were plenty of books to choose from. I decided to go way back in time (ha ha) and feature The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers, which is an Egypt-centric time travel fantasy. There are a TON of covers and a lot of them are really good! Bonus: several have clocks on the cover which fits in with the “time” theme. Here we go:

For me, it’s a toss-up among the Russian, Polish and Serbian editions, and they are all so different! But ultimately, I’m drawn to the Polish edition the most:
I love the cover you chose, it looks like a movie poster – as does the Ace cover on the first row which is also really good, but my favourite is the Czech.

I haven’t read this book, but it sounds good. I like the Dutch edition because it looks sinister.

I absolutely love this book! I weirdly don’t like any of these covers. So I will go with the Ace cover since that was on the copy I read. Arrr!
What a great choice for this week! I haven’t read this one, and I need to get hold of it as I’m a sucker for time travel stories AND I like Powers’ writing. I found this a difficult decision – I’m torn between your favourite, the Polish cover which immediately caught my eye and the Harper Collins offering.
Lots of intriguing ones here but I like the 2018 Russian edition…something about it…
I like the Czech one. I think maybe because of the colors. And the balance. The Polish one is so different that it stands out. Caught my eye too 🙂
I’m leaning toward the 2013 Dutch edition. 🙂

Great set of covers! I’ve not read this one, and I don’t think I’ve tried anything yet by Tim Powers. I think my favorite cover is the Ace 1983 edition. I like the sinister mystery of it.
Never heard of this book, but those covers are giving me some massive Stargate vibes (which makes sense if it’s Egypt-centric haha). I love how different all the covers are for this one, but I think this time I’m going to have to go with the Russian cover! I’m not even sure what it is about it, but it just grabs my attention!

I love this book! Though my favorite cover is the very sombre one from Fantasy Masterworks 😉
