Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
There were SO MANY books I wanted to feature this week, so many new covers have popped up and it just doesn’t seem right to be sharing just one of them (although I may have a solution for that next year). But this book gives me goosebumps:
Two time-traveling agents from warring futures, working their way through the past, begin to exchange letters—and fall in love in this thrilling and romantic book from award-winning authors Amal-El Mohtar and Max Gladstone.
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading.
Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future.
Except the discovery of their bond would mean death for each of them. There’s still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win that war. That’s how war works. Right?
Co-written by two beloved and award-winning sci-fi writers, This Is How You Lose the Time War is an epic love story spanning time and space.
This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone. Releases in July 2019 from Saga Press. Max Gladstone sure is busy these days, this is the second 2019 release of his I’ve featured! This sounds epic, and I cannot wait.
Sounds interesting and like something you’ll really enjoy!
Definitely something I’ll enjoy, I’ve read several of his books and he’s very talented.
Sounds amazing! Definitely will need to check out!
It sounds unique, and I’m always curious when two writers work together!
I *think* Max read a section of this during his reading at WFC. If it was, wow this sounds amazing and weird. Definitely looking forward to this one myself.
Oh cool, yes it does sound weird, but I’m on board for anything he writes:-)
Wow, that cover is something else, Tammy, and the synopsis gives me goosebumps too! I definitely want to read this one.
I love the simplicity of the cover, it’s very striking:-)
Two of them writing together, you know this book is going to have some great prose!

I haven’t heard of this book but I will be keeping an eye on it. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Happy to spread the word!
Anything to do with time traveling always makes me approach with caution, but I do have a good feeling about this one 😀
Yep, sometimes it’s just too confusing, but I’m hoping in the hands of these two it will work out:-)
“Burn before reading” lol. that’s why I love time travel- so mind twisty! This sounds sooo good!
Yes, the twisty parts of time travel can be so fun if the author can handle them well.
I like the idea of this one and that cover is something too.

Me too, I sometimes get intimidated but I’ve read so many time travel stories that I love, so I always want to give them a shot:-)
I haven’t read a time travel book in ages, but this one looks to have an unusual and intriguing synopsis. Good find!
