Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
I had a blast with Tomlinson’s Gate Crashers, and I’m excited for his next book. The cover makes it look like a sequel, but I don’t think it is, take a look:
Firstname Lastname is a no one with nowhere to go. With a name that is the result of an unfortnate clerical error and destined to be one of the only humans on an alien space station. That is until she sneaks aboard a ship and joins up with a crew of repomen (they are definitely not pirates).
Now she’s traveling the galaxy “recovering” ships. What could go wrong?
Starship Repo by Patrick S. Tomlinson. Releases in May 2019 from Tor Books. The blurb is pretty sketchy, but I love the idea of a “repoman” (or I guess you should say “repogirl”) in space. Looks like tons of fun, especially if it’s got the same brand of humor as Gate Crashers!
This sounds fun. What a name for the character! And a starship repo.. Womder how that works?

The idea sounds really good, I’m curious to see what it’s all about:-)
I’m always looking for the next Fortune’s Pawn… I haven’t read too many super fantastic sci-fis this year! Might have to add this one to my list. 🙂

I haven’t read Fortune’s Pawn! You’ve just reminded me I have a copy, though:-)
omgggggggggg Read it.

Maybe for SciFi Month next month!
I know how much you liked the first one so I’m so glad you have the next edition to look forward to. Hope it measures up!
Me too, I think I’m happy that it doesn’t seem to be a sequel. Sequels are hit or miss sometimes.
I absolutely love that cover. I’m really trying to read more science fiction because up until this past year I was reading predominantly fantasy with a few exceptions. Adding this to my list, thanks for sharing!
I love the cover too, I feel like lately I’ve been reading more science fiction, but I love both:-)
This looks like a book with a good sense of humor. The cover is really fun as well, I’ll have to keep my eye out. Thanks for sharing this one!

The last one was really funny, so I hope this is similar:-)
They do look so similar cover-wise. I wonder if it’s just for fans to recognize the author or if there’s a plan behind it all. 😮

Could be, maybe just a way of branding. I guess I’ll find out if when I read it:-)
Hope you love it – and yes, those covers do make it feel like a follow up.
Lynn 😀
I’m thinking maybe some character cross over if nothing else:-)
Oh wow, just seeing the main character’s name has me dying to read this one!

I know, right? Hysterical!
“recovering” ships lol. Yeah this looks awesome. Repo’ing starships… why has no one thought of this before? 🙂

Yeah, it’s a pretty cool idea! Hopefully it translates to fiction well.
A couple weeks ago I considered featuring this one too because I also thought it was the sequel to Gate Crashers. Looking at the blurb, I wasn’t so sure either. But the style of the cover is so similar! Maybe it just takes place in the same world?
Yeah, I’m curious. It definitely looks like a sequel but the blurb doesn’t sound anything like the first book.
I just read an article about Tomlinson an hour ago so this is a nice coincidence! Judging by the blurb, I feel like this might be one of those hit or miss books, but fingers crossed it’s a hit because I need more funny scifi in my life. 😀
I really enjoyed his last book, so hopefully this one will be a hit!
I really need to get around to Gate Crashers. These are some great covers!
I love these covers too, I mean they are sort of typical science fiction, but the font in the center makes them unique.
