Waiting on Wednesday [320] – STARSHIP REPO by Patrick S. Tomlinson

Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!

I had a blast with Tomlinson’s Gate Crashers, and I’m excited for his next book. The cover makes it look like a sequel, but I don’t think it is, take a look:

Firstname Lastname is a no one with nowhere to go. With a name that is the result of an unfortnate clerical error and destined to be one of the only humans on an alien space station. That is until she sneaks aboard a ship and joins up with a crew of repomen (they are definitely not pirates).

Now she’s traveling the galaxy “recovering” ships. What could go wrong?

Starship Repo by Patrick S. Tomlinson. Releases in May 2019 from Tor Books. The blurb is pretty sketchy, but I love the idea of a “repoman” (or I guess you should say “repogirl”) in space. Looks like tons of fun, especially if it’s got the same brand of humor as Gate Crashers!

Let me know what you’re waiting on this week:-D

Me too, I think I’m happy that it doesn’t seem to be a sequel. Sequels are hit or miss sometimes.

  1. I absolutely love that cover. I’m really trying to read more science fiction because up until this past year I was reading predominantly fantasy with a few exceptions. Adding this to my list, thanks for sharing!

I love the cover too, I feel like lately I’ve been reading more science fiction, but I love both:-)

  2. A couple weeks ago I considered featuring this one too because I also thought it was the sequel to Gate Crashers. Looking at the blurb, I wasn’t so sure either. But the style of the cover is so similar! Maybe it just takes place in the same world?

Yeah, I’m curious. It definitely looks like a sequel but the blurb doesn’t sound anything like the first book.

I love these covers too, I mean they are sort of typical science fiction, but the font in the center makes them unique.
