Waiting on Wednesday [272] – BLOODY ROSE by Nicholas Eames

Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!

I just about DIED when I saw that the cover for this book had been revealed:

Live fast, die young.

Tam Hashford is tired of working at her local pub, slinging drinks for world-famous mercenaries and listening to the bards sing of adventure and glory in the world beyond her sleepy hometown.

When the biggest mercenary band of all rolls into town, led by the infamous Bloody Rose, Tam jumps at the chance to sign on as their bard. It’s adventure she wants – and adventure she gets as the crew embark on a quest that will end in one of two ways: glory or death.

It’s time to take a walk on the wyld side.

Bloody Rose (The Band #2) by Nicholas Eames. Releases in April 2018 from Orbit. This cover is AMAZING! And I’m so excited to read this sequel, I can’t even tell you. I know the blurb is very short, but hey, one of the characters is named Tam! That makes me pretty happy:-) Are you reading this series?

Let me know what you’re waiting on this week!

  1. I haven’t read the first one, Tammy. Is this grimdark? The premise sound wonderfully madcap with some humour – I hope so anyway, or it could be something of a gorefest…

I love the style of artwork on these covers, and I’m glad the second book is following the same style:-)

  2. Ok. I always loved the title of the first one but never really considered picking it up but man, I’m going to have to know just so I can read this one. What an awesome cover and I really want to learn all about Rose.

“Tammy” is such an old fashioned name that you don’t see it that often. Thank goodness for The Firm!

Oh, golly, yes! I really, really liked Kings of the Wyld, so this is me hitting the preorder button with rampant enthusiasm.

  4. I saw this on twitter earlier this week – it’s a great cover isn’t it. It fits in really well with the first but I think it’s better. I’ve still got to read the first but there’s plenty of time and I’ve left December very free so I can catch up with things.
    Lynn 😀
