Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers.
I was so excited to spot this cover reveal last week on Facebook, and I immediately knew which book I’d be picking for the last Waiting on Wednesday of the year!

Lost Boy: The True Story of Captain Hook by Christina Henry. Releases in July 2017 from Berkley Books. I’m a big fan of Henry’s The Chronicles of Alice series (although bad on me, I still haven’t read Red Queen:-() But I’m really looking forward to her take on Peter Pan, and I’m loving the simplistic yet powerful cover image.
I really am not a huge fan of Peter Pan but I am drawn to Captain Hook. I am interested to see Henry’s take on this tale. I hope Peter Pan turns out to be the bad guy and Hook the hero! That’s how my version would go.

Her books are pretty dark so I’m hoping too that Hook is the good guy. We’ll see!
I have a CLEAR TBR for next break… which happens to be next May-August… which also happens to be the same time that this book is being released… Hmm… I think I know what book I may requesting an early review copy for 😉

Oh man, that cover scares me a little! I’d have to pass, lol. I loved Lisa Maxwell’s Unhooked – my favorite Peter Pan retelling! I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it, Tammy. =)

Henry does write very dark books so if you’re not into that kind of thing, I totally get it:-)

As soon as I saw this on feed I knew I had to comment! I loved Alice (I haven’t read The Red Queen either), and I really enjoy Henry’s writing technique, so this should be a real treat 🙂

Whoa what! I still have yet to read Alice but this author has been on my list for far too long. I need to fix that … stat.. and I’ll definitely be adding this one to my tbr.

After her Alice books, I am so on board with this one! So many Captain Hook stories have been disappointing, but maybe this will finally be the one I’ve been looking for… 🙂

The covers for Christina Henry’s books are so beautiful! I agree with Mogsy: few Capt. Hook stories have been worth the read, but I’m betting that Henry can pull it off. 🙂

I love stories where the darker side of well-known characters is explored, and this one promises plenty of darkness! Intriguing, very intriguing… 🙂

Well no, that last line is definitely one of the best ways to end a blurb! The cover is unexpectedly bloody, which I didn’t expect either. Overall, this book certainly sounds dark, doesn’t it?
YAS. I am a huge fan of retellings, especially Peter Pan ones. I read Hook by Brianna Shrum which was also about his story. It will be interesting to see another authors take on this story as well :3
