Book Review Giveaway – Win a Book I Reviewed in October

BRG Nov 2015

It that time again, time for my Book Review Giveaway! In case you’re unfamiliar with it, every month I offer one international winner the chance to choose one of the books I reviewed the previous month. Provided The Book Depository ships to your country, you can enter! Please help me congratulate last month’s winner:

Ellen B. selected The Weight of Feathers

I read some amazing books this past month, but there were a few that I didn’t love so much, so my ratings run the gamut this time around. There’s adult, young adult, and even a middle grade book to choose from, so let’s get to it! Here’s what you can select from if your name is randomly drawn (Click on the titles to read my reviews):

five stars

Our Lady of the Ice by Cassandra Rose Clarke

four and a half

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

four stars

This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzie Lee

The Weight of Chains by Lesley Conner

three and a half

After Alice by Gregory Maguire

I really don’t have one, a favorite that is for October. I think I’m just still trying to get over the fact it’s November already.

  2. I’ve read roughly a jillion books in the last few weeks and right now, I can’t even remember which book I loved. I know I read many wonderful books, but I just finished a couple of not so great books, and they have temporarily erased the titles of the great books from my mind…I read Girl Goyle and really enjoyed it. (Sorry for failing to remember immediately…)

The best book I read in October was Mycroft Holmes, a delightful adventure story by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Cheers and thanks, Kara S

I haven’t read any of the books released this October, but Our Lady of the Ice by Cassandra Rose Clarke sounds really intriguing.

These are great giveaways! Now if only I could get evidence of my promotional tweet to paste in the rafflecopter!

Favorite book read in October? City of Stairs.

I only got to 6 books in October and I would say that my favorite was a reread of Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder and runner-up was Shifting Dreams by Elizabeth Hunter.

I wasn’t home much of Oct. and didn’t read while away. Just finished Witches Protection Program by Michael Phillips Cash.

  8. Oooh the opportunity to pick something from another person’s book shelf 😛 Always a fun exercise! The top 2 that I am definitely interested in reading are Illuminae and Our Lady of Ice!

Sadly during October school just took up all of my time and I could barely read. I did reread Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and that made me happy 🙂
