Over-Booked [16] – A Book Haul Post

Over booked banner

Welcome to Over-Booked, where I’m sharing my recent book acquisitions, and linking up with Stacking the Shelves at Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post at The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s been a light couple of weeks, book-wise, which is a good thing. I did request two digital titles (Resistance is futile!), and I also got a book for a blog tour I’m doing later in the month. The rest are purchases! Here’s what I have this week:

Purchased:

over booked 1-10

My dog Otis just had to be part of the photo, LOL! I purchased The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu after seeing it on many “best of” lists recently. It’s supposed to be amazing. And I bought a copy of The Islands at the End of the World by Austin Aslan so I can get ready to host him soon on the blog. He’s offered to give away a digital audio book of his latest, so check back soon for that. Finally, my Riot Read book from Book Riot last month was Skylight by José Saramago. I had never heard of this book before, but Riot Read only picks really good books, so I’m betting I’ll enjoy it:-D

Digital ARCs for review:

Dead Boys by Gabriel Squailia comes out in March from Talos. This was one of my Top Ten Debuts of 2015, and I was excited to find it on Edelweiss.

The Damned by Andrew Pyper, releases in February from Simon & Schuster. This book was a recent Waiting on Wednesday pick, and since I didn’t read nearly enough of my WoW picks last year, I’m getting a head start!

Tunnel Vision by Susan Adrian. I’m on the blog tour later this month for this title from St. Martin’s Griffin. I’m getting a superhero vibe from this one!

That’s my book haul, what’s yours?

I got Dead Boys from Edelweiss too, it sounds suitably creepy so I’m looking forward to starting it! I hadn’t heard of Tunnel Vision before but having read the description it’s now on my wishlist 🙂

    Happy reading!

  2. Ooh, I actually haven’t heard of any of these! The Damned looks interesting though, such a dark, creepy cover! Hope you like it 🙂

And haha, how cute your dog snuck into the photo. I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out! 😛

  3. I waffled on Dead Boys when I saw it on Edel too but I don’t think this time I’ll bite. As interesting as the description sounds, I haven’t always enjoyed that Neil-Gaiman-style of story in the past. I guess little hints like that are good warning signs. But ooh, Islands at the End of the World! That one I want 🙂

  4. I love the cover of the Three body problem. And Otis is so cute, give him a kiss for me (I won’t tell my cats I’ve just found a dog cute) ! Enjoy your book haul and have a great week 😉
