Over-Booked [15] – The Last Book Haul Post of 2014

Welcome to Over-Booked, my version of the book haul post! I’m linking up over at Stacking the Shelves (Tynga’s Reviews) and The Sunday Post (The Caffeinated Book Reviewer).

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, or whichever holiday you celebrate! I’ve been incredibly busy this month, getting ready for the holidays, shopping, traveling, and it seems I’ve failed miserably on the book reading front. But hopefully things will get back to normal now that Christmas is over, and I’ll be able to squeeze in more reading time. This is my last book haul post of the year, and I have an all-digital pile this time:

From Edelweiss/NetGalley:

Atlanta Burns by Chuck Wendig. If you read this blog on a regular basis, you’ll know I worship at the feet of Chuck Wendig, more or less. This YA start to a new series looks completely contemporary, which is different from Wendig’s normal books, but nonetheless, I’m looking forward to it. Big thanks to Skyscape!

Positive by David Wellington. Wellington has written some terrifically gruesome horror stories, and this zombie story sounds really good. “Mad Max meets World War Z meets I Am Legend“?? OK, sure. Big thanks to Harper Voyager!

Boo by Neil Smith. I found this title on someone’s upcoming 2015 “Can’t wait” list, and I was happy to see it on Edelweiss. Not sure whether this is considered YA or Middle Grade, but it looks like fun. Sort of a The Lovely Bones for the middle grade crowd. Thank you, Vintage, for the review copy!

From publishers:

The Lost Level by Brian Keene. I think somewhere in my vast library I probably have an old Brian Keene book. This is a start to a new series and is being compared to the adventure tales of Edgar Rice Burroughs. I think it looks like a bunch of fun! Big thanks to Apex Books!

Strangers by David Moody. Author Wayne Simmons asked me if I’d like to read Moody’s book, and since I absolutely loved Wayne’s last book, Plastic Jesus, I couldn’t say no. I know, I know, I usually run screaming from indie books, but I trust Wayne, so I’m giving this one a go:-D

That’s my haul this week. Looks like I’ll definitely be starting the new year OVER-BOOKED:-D What new goodies did you get?

  1. That Chuck Wendig book has been staring at me for the last couple weeks – I am so tempted to grab it off NetGalley especially since it’s “Read Now” for me. Are you going to read it soon? I’d love to know what you think!

It’s a January release so I will definitely be reading it in the next couple of weeks. I’ll let you know!
