Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! I love this week’s theme, because I seem to have found some new-to-me authors in recent months, and I can’t wait to read more of their books. I am only listing authors that already have more than one book published, not debut authors. So here they are: my top ten authors I’ve only read one book from – but I NEED to read more (and sorry, I’m not linking these up—there are just too many!):

4. John Scalzi. I’ve read: Lock In. I’m dying to read: Redshirts and Old Man’s War.
5. Kathleen Tierney. I’ve read: Blood Oranges. I’m dying to read: Red Delicious and Cherry Bomb.
6. Gillian Flynn. I’ve read: Gone Girl. I’m dying to read: Sharp Objects and Dark Places.
7. Patrick Ness. I’ve read: A Monster Calls. I’m dying to read: The Knife of Never Letting Go and More Than This.
8. Marissa Meyer. I’ve read: Cinder. I’m dying to read: Scarlet and Cress.
9. Stephanie Kuehn. I’ve read: Charm & Strange. I’m dying to read: Complicit and Delicate Monsters (no cover yet).
10. Libba Bray. I’ve read: A Great and Terrible Beauty. I’m dying to read: The Diviners and Going Bovine.

Yeah Andrew Smith! I just finished reading 100 Sideways Miles and thought it was incredibly fun. My flatmate did say I made a lot of weird facial expressions while reading, but I guess that’s to be expected with him… Some of his even older YA books look really fascinating, like The Marbury Lense and In The Path Of Falling Objects. By fascinating I mean wacky and funny and a little unnerving, which is what I like about his newer novels, too.
And dare I say that The Diviners is even better than A Great And Terrible Beauty? It’s one of my very favorite historical-fantasy-YA books I’ve ever read. The atmosphere is so so so spooky and the pace is just brilliant. Please tell us your thoughts when you do read it!
I’ve heard amazing things about The Diviners, hope to read it at some point!

OLD MAN’S WAR! OLD MAN’S WAR! OLD MAN’S WAR! That’s the book that made me a fan of Scalzi, any novel he puts out now is pretty much an immediate must-read for me 🙂

I LOVED My Swordhand Is Singing! Marcus Sedgwick has such a unique writing style. Scarlet and Cress are both brilliant books, especially Cress. The series just gets better and better.

I’ve recently discovered Scalzi and am determined to read something of his soon. Lock In is on my list but I just added Old Man’s War and I want that one real bad! I’d highly recommend Flynn’s books. I liked Sharp Objects and Dark Places even more than Gone Girl.
Love Ness’ work too, I’ve read all of his stuff. And ohhhh we’re in the same boat with Cinder! hahaha That should’ve been on my list. You’ve got some great reads to look forward to! 🙂
I loved Cinder so much, and I can’t believe I haven’t read the other ones!! I also adored Gone Girl, so I’m super excited to hear Flynn’s other books are even better!
Patrick Ness is such a fantastic writer, Tammy. His Chaos Walking series is one of my all-time favourites. You should check him out on twitter – he’s freaking hilarious, too!

I’ve also read Blood Oranges, and will definitely read more. I’ve read a lot of Caitlín R. Kiernan’s other stuff, which is written under her own name and is quite different to this series. I really want to try the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer, but I think I will wait until all the books are out… if the series finishes soon, that is. If it just goes on, I will go on and start reading it without waiting.
Oh, it’s such a shame because I haven’t read anything by any of these authors. I have been dying to read Cinder for quite some time now and I hope I will make time to get around to it! Otherwise, I hope you get to read more from these authors 😀
