Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Wow, it’s been months since I did a TTT! This week is a fun one, because I always love looking ahead, and this week we’re highlighting our favorite forthcoming books of spring. I’m not sure what publishers use as their definition of “spring,” but for me, I’m listing books that will be released in the months of March, April and May 2014. So here they are, my Top Ten books for Spring:

Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen. Release date: April 1 2014 (Strange Chemistry). I have been seeing RAVE reviews of this book, and it’s next on my list. I can’t wait!

High & Dry by Sarah Skilton. Release date: April 15 2014 (Amulet Books). I just adored Sarah’s debut, Bruised, and I’ll be reading this soon.

She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick. Release date: April 22 2014 (Roaring Brook Press). I still haven’t had time to fit Sedgwick into my schedule, but luckily I have a review copy of this which makes it much easier to schedule:-)

Morningside Fall by Jay Posey. Release date: April 29 2014 (Angry Robot). I just loved the first book in this series, Three, and I’m salivating to get to this one!

The Falconer by Elizabeth May. Release date: May 6 2014 (Chronicle Books). I’ve been anxious to read this since it came out in the UK last year.

Feather Bound by Sarah Raughley. Release date: May 6th 2014 (Strange Chemistry). I’ve read some really good reviews of this book, so I’m anxious to get reading. Really happy I requested this from NetGalley.

Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel. Release date: May 13 2014 (Farrar, Straus, & Giroux). This Peter Pan retelling has been on my radar for a while, so I’m glad it’s almost time to read it.

Motherless Child by Glen Hirshberg. Release date: May 13 2014 (Tor Books). This vampire story looks super creepy!

Hot Lead, Cold Iron by Ari Marmell. Release date: May 13 2014 (Titan Books). A fantasy detective story! Sounds like a bunch of fun.

The Three by Sarah Lotz. Release date: May 20 2014 (Little, Brown and Company). I love the cover, and the story sounds creepy. Just what I need, more creepy stories!

I’d love to read your top ten. Leave me a link so I can visit!

  1. Id actually like to try out the May book, despite it not being my normal reading genre. Not sure why it caught my eye, but I have watch for it for a while now.

  2. Wow these covers… definitely inspiring grabby hands! Very curious about Hot Lead, Cold Iron though. Who doesn’t love the fay?

  3. I actually just made my non-reader hubby read Three and he ADORED it. He’s, like, dying to talk to me about it and that makes me really happy. I’m about to start reading it today, so I have no doubt that we’ll all be wanting for Morningside Fall!

    • Oh that’s so cool! I love it when non-readers discover how wonderful books are. Yeah, Three was pretty awesome, and I hope Morningside Fall is too:-)

  4. I can’t WAIT to read The Three!!! Ari Marmell is also on my list, I love his Widdershins Adventure series.

I wonder what you’ll think of The Falconer…I read it last year and thought it was not too bad. But I think you’ll really like Second Star! I polished it off last week…not exactly what I expected, but in a good way! I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed it actually, considering I don’t usually do contemporary YA. But I hope you read it soon so we can talk about it 😀

    • Me too, I rarely like to read contemporary, YA or adult, but the Peter Pan tie-in with Second Star made it impossible to pass up. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it! I’ll look forward to our discussion after I read it;-)

  5. Stolen Songbird looks really good! Also can’t wait for The Falconer and Second Star! I’ve been hearing some good things about She’s Not Invisible as well. I have yet to read any books by him so maybe this one will be my first.
