Stacking the Shelves (48)

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and is a fun way to share the books you’ve received with other bloggers and readers. Despite my efforts to stay away from NetGalley/Edelweiss, I seem to have a fair amount of new review books this week, but I’m so excited about each and every one of them. Here’s what I received:

For Review:

Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel. I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book, and I was happy to be approved. But the reviews on Goodreads are depressing me a bit. I don’t care, I’m still looking forward to this Peter Pan retelling.

The Burning Dark by Adam Christopher. I just read Christopher’s Hang Wire, and I can’t wait to read more from this imaginative author.

Invisible Beasts by Sharona Muir. This story is hard to describe, but I was immediately drawn to that very thing. I believe this is a novel, but even that’s hard to tell from the description!

In the End by Demitria Lunetta. I loved the first book of her series, In the After, so of course I had to pick this up! I’m happy that this is only a two-book series, so it ends with this story.

The Silk Map by Chris Willrich. Another book two, Willrich has some amazing world-building skills, and I look forward to reading more about Gaunt and Bone.

Moth and Spark by Anne Leonard. A fantasy with dragons! Yay.

Under Nameless Stars by Christian Schoon. Another book two! And I couldn’t be happier to dive into his follow-up to Zenn Scarlett! Also, I’m running a giveaway right now, and one of the books you can win is this one. Check it out here.

Purchased:

Cress

Cress by Marissa Meyer. My pre-order copy arrived a couple of days ago, yippee! Although I’m way behind in this series and I need to catch up with Scarlet first.

That’s my book shelf this week! What did you get? Let me know:)

  1. Great haul! Glad to know I’m not the only one behind on the Lunar Chronicles, I’ve still got to finish Cinder! Under Nameless Skies looks great, can’t wait to get started on that as Zenn Scarlett was fantastic.

Enjoy your new books and happy reading πŸ™‚

Oh my gosh, is Second Star on net galley? I have to go see asap! Earlier reviews always worry me too, but a lot of times I end up loving a book despite the negative reviews! You never know! I hope you enjoy all you got πŸ™‚

    Here’s my STS!

  3. Oooh, you got Burning Dark! I had to practically slap my own face to stop myself from requesting that over Netgalley, because I have so many NG titles on my plate already. But that’s definitely on my list! Silk Map is on my list too, I’m going to have to bug the publisher for that one soon, methinks! And I’ve placed a hold for Cress at my library, I’m surprised the waiting list isn’t a million miles long, frankly. So hopefully I’ll be reading that soon too πŸ™‚

  4. I still have to read Scarlet too. Cress sounds so good and I love that cover! Gorgeous sounding books this week! Glad you’re not denying yourself e-galleys πŸ™‚

I looove Cress! It’s so awesome. πŸ™‚ And I’d love to read Second Star! The cover for Moth and Spark is sooo cool. I’m looking that up based on cover alone. πŸ™‚ Happy reading! My StS!

I’ve got 4 of those as well! I really enjoyed The Burning Dark so I’m curious to see what you end up thinking about it. Can’t wait to read The Silk Map and Moth and Spark!

    • I’m glad you enjoyed The Burning Dark. I requested it before I read Hang Wire, and so I was worried it might be more of the same. Not that I didn’t enjoy Hang Wire, but it really took me forever to read. So anyway, good to know about TBD.
