Stacking the Shelves (37)

STS

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, where we share our latest book hauls. I only received a couple of things this week, but they are very exciting… Here’s what I got:

From the publisher for Review:

20130906_191511

Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan. The paperback version of this amazing book is about to hit stores on September 24th, and Picador asked me if I could review it. Since I’ve already read the book, I agreed to do so, and I’ll be giving this paperback copy away, since I already own the hard cover. Look for the review and giveaway on—you guessed it—September 24th! (And the cover glows in the dark! One more reason you’ll want to enter this giveaway.)

Kinslayer by Jay Kristoff. Oh you guys, getting this just made my week. I knew I had won a copy from Library Thing, but LT isn’t always reliable when it comes to making sure readers get the books they win. Amazingly enough, this showed up less than a week after I got the email. This sequel to Stormdancer is rumored to be SAD and a TEAR-JERKER. But I don’t care. I can’t wait to read it.

Thank you MacMillan, Picador and Library Thing!

Purchased:

Night Film

Night Film by Marisha Pessl. I’ve read so many great reviews of this book, I can’t wait to see if they hit the mark. I tried reading Pessl’s first book, Special Topics in Calamity Physics, and just couldn’t get into it. This book is almost a multi-media experience, with photos and other graphics throughout.

Gifted:

The 100The Clockwork Scarab

Big thanks to Lucy at The Reading Date for bringing these lovely books home from her trip to New York! I can’t wait to dive into them:)

What did you get this week? Let me know!
