Stacking the Shelves (35)

STSStacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and is a great way to share your new books with other bloggers and readers. This week I received some review books for some blog tours I’m on in the next couple of months, as well as one package in the mail (!) and some Edelweiss titles. Some of these are repeats from my What’s On My Plate post from yesterday, so bear with me! Here’s what I received:

Mountain Dead and Appalachian Undead, edited by Jason Sizemore. Now available, from Apex Publications. These books have similar covers for a reason. They are basically the same collection of short stories, except that Mountain Dead contains four additional stories. I will be reading them all and interviewing the editor, Jason Sizemore. Thank you Lesley at Apex!

Hold Tight (The Embrace Series #2) by Cherie Colyer. Release date: August 20 2013 (Omnific Publishing). This is book two in a series, and I loved the first book! I’m on the blog tour and my stop is August 29th.

Relic by Renee Collins. Release date: August 27 2013 (Entangled Teen). I’m also on this blog tour, which I’m pretty excited about. Look for my stop on August 20th.

Cloaked in Fur by T. F. Walsh. Release date: August 5 2013 (Crimson Romance). And another blog tour! My stop will be August 7th.

The Outside (The Hallowed Ones #2) by Laura Bickle. I’m so excited to be on this tour! The blog tour is in September. This is a vampire story set in the Amish community, and is the second book after The Hallowed Ones. Cool, right?

Promise of Shadows by Justina Ireland. Release date: March 11 2014 (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers). This one isn’t going to be released for a while, but I’m still happy that I was approved. It’s about harpies!

The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas. Release date: September 17 2013 (Balzer + Bray). This is the first in a new series, and looks great. Plus, love the cover with a sky full of fire and a castle on a hill!

The Kings and Queens of Roam by Daniel Wallace. Now available (Touchstone). Wallace is the author of a book called Big Fish, and you may remember the movie version from several years ago. It was a really good movie with touches of magical realism. If this is anything like Big Fish, I can’t wait to read it. Thanks to the publisher for sending a review copy.

That’s my shelf this week! What’s on your shelf/mailbox?

  2. I saw The Kings and Queens of Roam at the bookstore and I almost bought it but I was on the fence because there were four copies sitting there on the shelf and I saw it as a bad sign. So I am looking forward to your review. I feel like I might have missed a great reading opportunity but…
