Waiting on Wednesday (62) SKULK by Rosie Best

Waiting on Wednesday copy

I love Wednesdays! I just saw this cover revealed yesterday, and I’m excited to share it. Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share the books you’re “waiting” on. This week I can’t wait to read:

Skulk

Skulk by Rosie Best. Release date: October 1 2013 (Strange Chemistry). Another potential gem from the Angry Robot/Strange Chemistry team! I love this cover, especially the cool fox symbol at the top. Here’s the description from Goodreads:

When Meg witnesses the dying moments of a shapeshifting fox and is given a beautiful and powerful stone, her life changes forever. She is plunged into the dark world of the Skulk, a group of shapeshifting foxes.

As she learns about the other groups of shapeshifters that lurk around London – the Rabble, the Horde, the Cluster and the Conspiracy – she becomes aware of a deadly threat against all the shapeshifters. They must put aside all their enmity and hostility and fight together to defeat it.

I love the concept of different kinds of shape-shifters all living in London. Doesn’t this look awesome? Don’t forget to add it to Goodreads! What are you waiting on this week? Leave me a link!

  1. I love shape-shifting stories and having it be foxes instead of wolves or cats sounds really unique. I love that cover as well! That would definitely be something I grab off the shelf. Thanks so much for featuring this book – I hadn’t come across it before!

    Here’s my WoW.
    Happy reading!

This one does sound awesome! When I saw it in the newsletter I was like YES I’ll definitely try this one. I like the top half of the art – there is something about the bottom half that I think is just a little off though. Thoughts?

    • Now that you say that, I see what you mean. It’s almost as if the top and bottom are different books! Plus the running through the tunnel thing is something I’ve seen on a bunch of covers lately. Hopefully the tunnel scenario is important to the story:)

  3. I haven’t heard of this one yet, and the fox symbol looks pretty cool on the cover. Looking forward to hearing more about it!
