Welcome to Stacking the Shelves, where bloggers get to share the books they’ve acquired over the past week or two, graciously hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, as always. I have a small haul this week, thankfully, as I’m still in catch-up mode. Here’s what I received:
For review from NetGalley:
Student Bodies by Sean Cummings. Release date: September 5 2013 (Strange Chemistry). I love this cover! I have to admit I haven’t read the first book yet, Poltergeeks (but I’m going to before this one comes out!). Big thanks to Strange Chemistry!
Vicious (Preview Excerpt) by V. E. Schwab. Release date: September 24 2013 (Tor). This is a sample, and I believe it’s about the first 100 pages. I haven’t had any luck nabbing an ARC, so this is the next best thing. Typically I hate things like this; I much prefer to read the entire story at once. But I’ve heard amazing things about Vicious, and it’s already got lots of great industry reviews. I’m going to read it and try to stay sane until September!
Day One by Nate Kenyon. Release date: October 1 2013 (Thomas Dunne Books). Although there seems to be no end in sight to the apocalypse/dystopian genre, this one looks different, since it has to do with the internet imploding. It’s also set in New York, and I’ll admit I never get tired of that location! My only problem with this title is that I can’t download it to my Kindle. Is anyone else having that problem? Hmmm…
Super Special Stuff:
The Last Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff. SUPER SPECIAL PAPERBACK THAT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IF YOU PRE-ORDER KINSLAYER!! Jay wrote this prequel to Stormdancer and had it printed up in paperback, but the only way to get one is to pre-order Kinslayer. The. Only. Way. I don’t know if you can still get one, but here’s the link if you want to try. I’m not sure how many pre-orders they have, but since the link is still up, I’d say your chances are good. The link will give you all the details if you’d like to score your own sweet The Last Stormdancer! I haven’t read it yet, but it’s going to be soon…
Lovely Canary swag (bookmarks, stickers and signed post cards!) from Rachele Alpine! I’m going to be on her blog tour next month and very much looking forward to reading her book:) Thank you Rachele!
That’s it for me this week! Next Saturday I’ll be at San Diego Comic Con (finally!) and I hope to get some goodies to share with you when I get back. I’d love to know what’s on your shelves this week, so link me up below!
