DateWithBookGiveaway I recently found this blog, Great Imaginations, that I love. Lyn and Kara have a really fun giveaway going on right now called “Blind Date with a Book.” What an awesome idea! They show you a book that’s wrapped up in paper (so you can’t see what book it is) and it’s got a face drawn on it. Then they give a short descriptive hint to give you an idea of what the book is. Sounds like fun, right? Click here to enter!

Praying for RainJay Kristoff, author extraordinaire of Stormdancer (my review) and the forthcoming Kinslayer, has put up a free short story on his website entitled Praying for Rain. It’s set in the same world as Stormdancer, and according to Jay, it’s “dark” and “grim.” (Those are his words, not mine.) I’m beyond excited to read Kinslayer, and if you are too, here’s your chance to dive back into Kristoff’s world of The Lotus Wars before Kinslayer hits stores in September. Click here to go to Jay’s website, then click the box at the top that says “Bonus Stage.” Then click on the Praying for Rain cover to read the story.

BaraculaOK, this is completely awesome. The Presidential Monsters series by Heroes in Action Toys is available to purchase! For example, you can buy Baracula, shown here. Look familiar? You can buy seven different current and past presidents of the United States, re-imagined as monsters. Click here to see more!

book tableI love furniture design, especially extremely compact designs for very small spaces. Check out Flavorwire’s unique Extraordinary Multifunctional Furniture for Small Spaces here. OK, I would never do that (see photo) to my books, but the idea is pretty good. Most of these designs incorporate space for storing books!
