Dystopian Giveaway Hop! Win a Copy of PARTIALS by Dan Wells

Welcome to my first Giveaway Hop! I’m pretty excited about it. What better way to start than to join a Dystopian Giveaway Hop? Over 100 blogs are participating, and the Hop lasts for a whole week, and each one is giving something away. At the end of this post you can click on a link that will take you to a list of all the blogs that are participating.

For my giveaway, I’m happy to offer up a hard cover copy of Partials by Dan Wells! I have to admit I haven’t read this YA dystopian yet. I bought it earlier this year (and I only buy books I really want to read), but my review schedule has been so hectic that it’s been put on the back-burner. Rather than letting it gather dust on my book shelf, I’ve decided to give it away to one lucky winner.

Here’s the description from Goodreads:

The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials–engineered organic beings identical to humans–has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.

Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic-in-training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws have pushed what’s left of humanity to the brink of civil war, and she’s not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will find that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them–connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.

Dan Wells, acclaimed author of “I Am Not a Serial Killer,” takes readers on a pulsepounding journey into a world where the very concept of what it means to be human is in question–one where our humanity is both our greatest liability and our only hope for survival.

Sounds great, right? And I have another first on my blog today: I’m going to try using Rafflecopter for my giveaway. Although I can’t embed it on my WordPress blog, I can give you a link to get there. So please CLICK HERE TO ENTER THE RAFFLECOPTER GIVEAWAY.

Once you’ve entered, please come back and Click Here to see the other blogs participating in the Hop.

I have not read a lot of books in this genre, so at this time my favorite would have to be The Hunger Games. Thank you for participating in this fun hop.

Maze Runner is the best one I’ve read thus far, though I only give it about a 3/5 stars 🙂 Characters aren’t great but the plot kept me reading!

I love the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman. The creepiness and overall realism is just amazing. Not to mention the amazing characters. I also really love how there was a romance, but it was kept in the backseat, like it should. I feel like most dystopians try to put the romance first and the dystopian world is just a means to get the two characters together instead of being the focus. In Unwind, it is the opposite. The world building is amazing and the romance is a small subplot that is fun, but doesn’t get overly soppy.

The only book(s) I’veread that I know are Dystopian is the Hunger Games trilogy. I didn’t think it was that great.
